I've kept quite a few of them up there for many, many years, patiently waiting till I get to that part of the timeline instead of jumping the gun by writing it ahead of time. (I write series and family sagas instead of standalones, covering many decades.) My favorite writer also memorized entire books and stories in his head till he was able to write them down.Carrie-Annehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05810154378449825641noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8806244977869265498.post-8054117760979895542012-02-16T11:25:42.921-05:002012-02-16T11:25:42.921-05:00I carry a notebook around with me. I usually let it ruminate for a day or two to make sure it has any kind of staying power, and then I'll jot down as much as I think of to keep the idea. Then I can let it go in my head and focus back on the work at hand.

I don't know about how to determine what to write next, though. I struggle with that all the time. The last couple of pieces I just forced myself to pick something and go.JEMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04043891292719086478noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8806244977869265498.post-57035205128316620622012-02-15T11:16:08.141-05:002012-02-15T11:16:08.141-05:00I'm good at writing it down. Sometimes it does, sometimes it needs to be mended, other times it doesn't, but it's away I can get it out of my head.E. Arroyohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06634213563563094173noreply@blogger.com
