Tuesday Tunes: Our favorite songs
We spend a lot of time talking about our pasts and what songs remind us of what, but today I thought I'd share our favorite songs--well, at least our favorite songs at the moment.
Jessie wasn't sure if she could pick just one, but she finally settled on "Take My Breath Away" by Berlin. "There was one summer during high school when it seems we watched Top Gun almost every day. Let's face it, the volleyball scene was smoking hot. And the romance sizzled too. I loved this song then, and to this day, whenever I hear it, I think it's one of the most romantic songs in the world."
Sheri said, "This was soooo hard. Being a music buff and a dancer, listening to music is what I've done most of my life. Hmmm...but I have decided to go with FAME by Irene Cara. I was a young, dreamy kid when the movie came out. I wanted nothing more than to be there, with them: leaping on car hoods, jamming to music and setting my soul free. In a way, this song did set me free--free to see my dancing in a new light. Possibilities. It's about being who you are and never forgetting it.
Nikki said, "Extremely hard question, but (for today at least) I’m going to go with Music of the Night from the Phantom of the Opera soundtrack. I love that musical. I love that song. Gives me chills."
AE decided on "Touch too Much, by AC/DC, because I always thought I was. Turned out, I was a wallflower in school, a bookworm, a Latin and French Club regular, a member of the National Honor Society. Oh, yeah. I was such a rebel, and my nerdness was oh so sexy. Snort."
And me? I had as much trouble as the other girls, but I finally decided on Metallica, "Nothing Else Matters." It was my husband's and my song during high school and we "danced" to it at our wedding. I'm still in shock it took me so long to come up with it.

Wow, you guys are bringing back the memories. I still love that Berlin song to this day. :)Another oldie but goodie would have to be anything from TLC. I loved them so much that my friends and I dressed up like them for Halloween!
ReplyDeleteGood pick Jess! Loved going back & listening to that one again.
