Just Because...

Here's a little something we hope brightens your day. Despite what comes your way, remember there's always something to be thankful for. *Silver lining, right?*
An Inspirational Poem

Be Thankful
By Author Unknown

Be thankful that you don’t already have everything you desire,
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?

Be thankful when you don’t know something
For it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.

Be thankful for your limitations
Because they give you opportunities for improvement.

Be thankful for each new challenge
Because it will build your strength and character.

Be thankful for your mistakes
They will teach you valuable lessons.

Be thankful when you’re tired and weary
Because it means you’ve made a difference.

It is easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are
also thankful for the setbacks.

GRATITUDE can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles
and they can become your blessings.

We at Oasis for YA are grateful to have you. You inspire us, motivate us, and move us to greater things. THANK YOU.
Tell us what you're thankful for.

  1. Excellent poem! Oh my goodness, I'm thankful for all of these things from the poem, but especially God, my loved ones, and freedom.

Thanks for the early morning inspiration :)

  2. Right now, I'm thankful for having clean water. IT sounds ridiculous but (and thanks for the comment yesterday, J.A.) with what the people of Ghana deal with every minute of everyday and then not having clean water on top of that...ugh...I'm just grateful to be where I am.

  3. I know I've commented this on some other blogs, but my mom's favorite saying is: If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.
It's important to remember the lessons in this poem. Whether you tell yourself you're happy or you're miserable, it'll be true. Thanks, Sheri! I'm thankful for all the amazing people in my life and having received a wonderful, public school education. (You can go anywhere and do anything with education. Added bonus when it's free.)

  4. What an inspirational poem. Thanks so much for posting it. I'm thankful for my life in general. Honestly, most of my problems are trivial compared to what a lot of people are dealing with. I am thankful for every day!

  5. I'm thankful for coffee. Too shallow? Fine, I'm thankful for a loving and supportive family.
